British English Conversation
I offer British English conversation lessons to individuals or small groups.
My name is Richard Taylor and I originate from Great Britain. I'm a semi-retired businessman, having worked worldwide within the automotive
industry throughout my career (see my business
profile). I'm registered in Brno, Czech Republic as a freelance English teacher, having trained and worked with a top
international Language School in Brno since May 2007.
My method of teaching is through conversation - you learn the English grammar and vocabulary naturally during
conversation. Because of my background, my ideal students are business and professional people but I'm just as comfortable
with students from all walks of life. I prefer to work with students who have a basic knowledge of English, who are looking for real
British English conversation to practice and thereby improve their language skills. I can offer 'specialised' lessons for students who wish
to prepare for an important meeting/ presentation, job interview etc etc. Whatever your specific requirements, I'm happy to meet with you
for a free preliminary discussion without any obligation on either side. Contact me
Translation Service
I also offer a translation/proof reading service from Czenglish to English or through an associate a full
translation service from Czech to English. Contact me

British English
British English (BrE) is the form of English used in the United Kingdom. It includes all English dialects
used within the United Kingdom.
It is estimated that there are 300 million native speakers and 300 million who use English
as a second language and a further 100 million use it as a foreign language. It is the language of science, aviation, computing, diplomacy, and
tourism. It is listed as the official or co-official language of over 45
countries and is spoken extensively in other countries where it has no official status.
This compares to 27 for French, 20 for Spanish and 17 for Arabic. This domination is unique in history.
Speakers of languages like French, Spanish and Arabic may disagree, but English is on its way to becoming the world's unofficial
international language. Mandarin (Chinese) is spoken by more people, but English is now the most widespread of the world's
languages.
Half of all business deals are conducted in English. Two thirds of all scientific papers are written in
English. Over 70% of all post / mail is written and addressed in English. Most international tourism, aviation and diplomacy is conducted
in English.
The following dateline shows that British English forms the core of the English language.
